We’ve had an internet camera for over a year, but such are the complications for novices to install and mount these things, it’s only now that the camera is up and running. I thank Emma’s Dad Andy for his unique contraption-making skills. He has rigged up the camera, itself rainproofed in a large plastic water bottle, on the unused TV aerial to the back of the mirador.
It’s no wonder Andy’s known around here as MacGyver.
The aerial may not be in use, and it’s also quite rusty, but it hasn’t given up its swivel. This allows us to point the camera in every direction. Probably the best view - certainly the furthest - is the one towards Arcos lake, shown in the image to the left.
Initially I planned to aim the camera down to the street below, but it’s all a bit too dark and narrow and besides, the authorities frown on such spying.
Click here to access the webcam. I hope you enjoy what you see. If you have any doubt the camera is showing live footage, look out for those real-time darting swifts of Arcos!
PS As a follow up to the last blog entry, the local elections were won at the weekend by Pepa Caro’s PSOE party.
